My name is Tyler Latham, I don't usually go by Ty. But if you want to call me that, go for it!
Are you a student of UCM? If so, what year are you in and what is your major/minor?
Yep! I bummed around and went to community college for a year, so I'm a transfer, but still technically a freshman. I still haven't decided on a major; hoping to settle on one this year sometime.
Where are you from?
Lake of the Ozarks, I lived there all my life. But so far I am really enjoying life in Warrensburg!
What are some of your current and all time favorite animes/cartoons/anything animated?
I have honestly mainly seen the shows on the old Adult Swim/Toonami. Stuff such as Trigun, Samurai Champloo, Rurouni Kenshin, s-CRY-ed, all that cool stuff. My favorite I have seen to date would be Yu Yu Hakusho. I'm hoping the club will introduce me to some new stuff!
What are some of your current and all time favorite non animated shows/movies?
I'm a big Dexter fan. I love Game of Thrones (books as well as the show.) I have also been a Power Rangers fan since I was a kid. I LOVE the first 6 seasons or so, then I feel like they went down hill. I'm sure you guys will see me wear power rangers shirts to the club often.
What are some of your current and all time favorite works of literature?
My favorite author hands down is Chuck Palahniuk, the author of Fight Club (just broke the first two rules) and Invisible Monsters. I also read quite a bit of fantasy.
What are are some of your current and all time favorite video games?
I play way too much World of Warcraft and League of Legends. I've migrated to PC gaming so I don't play consoles much anymore. Borderlands 2, Diablo 3, Skyrim, and Fallout 3 are some more personal favs.
What sort of music do you enjoy?
I have a pretty unique taste in music and listen to a wide variety of stuffs. Mainly I listen to post-hardcore music. Stuff such as Chiodos, Crown the Empire, We Came As Romans, and Alesana. Me and a few friends went to Warped Tour over this Summer and had a blast! I always enjoy talking music with people, if you know any of the above bands, please approach me about it!
Have you been to a convention? If so, which ones, and what are some of your best con memories?
I have not, but I'm really looking forward to going with the club!
Do you do any sort of craft or hobby?
Not especially. I've never been very good at working with my hands outside of typing. I wish I could be artsy and make cool things, but stick men are about the limit of my skills.
Do you have any special skills?
I wish. I can type about 100 words per minute if i'm on a familiar keyboard. I know that's not super impressive, but it's the first thing that came to mind.
Do you have pets?
I have a shih-tzu and cat back home. I love animals, especially goats. Not sure why....I just think goats are really cool.
Have you done a cosplay? If so, what have you done?
I haven't, but I am very close to ordering a Power Rangers morphsuit, if that counts for anyhting.
What is the weirdest thing about yourself that you are willing to share?
I have a stuttering problem that I am very self conscious about ;-;
What do you like the most about Animation Expression Society?
I love being around people that share my interests, and everyone I have talked to in the club thus far seem very nice!
