Hey there!
I'm Chelsea, but you can call me by my username on here too. I go by this username because I really like geology stuff, Ghostbusters, and if you've probably guessed; Homestuck. I dig a lot of other things too, it's probably just best to generalize me as a huge nerd.
What is your name and/or nickname?
-Chelsea Newsome
Are you a student of UCM? If so, what year are you in and what is your major/minor?
-Yes, this is my second year and my major is Marketing with an art minor.
Where are you from?
-Around Kansas City, in Riverside. There's a lot of casinos.
What are some of your current and all time favorite animes/cartoons/anything animated?
-I like a LOT of stuff. Shojo certainly draws me in, even if it's kinda crappy. Right now I'm watching Hyouka, Tamako Market, Watamote, and I'm going to start watching the next generation episodes of Genshiken soon. I've been reading Bakuman, Kuroshitsuji (I'm at the end of the prep school art after they played cricket), and Oyasumi Punpun. I strongly recommend all of them, obviously!
What are some of your current and all time favorite non animated shows/movies?
-Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters 2, Kamikaze Girls (Shimotsuma Monogatari), and Marie Antoinette.
What are some of your current and all time favorite works of literature?
-Visually, The Rose of Versailles is absolutely stunning and a classic. I'm reading The Yule Lord by Brom right now and it's perfect so far. The Child Thief, also by Brom, is probably my favorite current piece of literature. I don't think I need to go into detail as to why Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray is a very worthwhile read since it's, you know, known and acclaimed by most everyone.
What are are some of your current and all time favorite videogames?
- Probably the Fable games, but I have to give the Elder Scrolls Series some serious credit because I love them so much. Right now I've just started Fallout 3 (I know...I'm really late to the party) and I love it.
as for less fantasy seriousness, the new Animal Crossing is absolutely outstanding and truly has nothing to criticize about it except I would love to have my life back, since I've probably spent a total of a month playing it, hour for hour. Yes, it really is worth the near-perfect score IGN gave it.
What sort of music do you enjoy?
-uhhhh. I don't try to hard when it comes to music, but I like 2NE1, Versailles, Kyary, Danger, various Homestuck music, just lots of edm, rap, bass-y stuff, and whatever my friends ask me to check out. I find whiny music to be pretty annoying.
Have you been to a convention? If so, which ones, and what are some of your best con memories?
-I've been to Naka-Kon since their second year, Motaku since their first (but I didn't go this year). I guess my favorite memory was meeting M. Alice and learning she's super sweet and cute on top of being very talented! She definitely became one of my role-models since then.
Do you do any sort of craft or hobby?
-I like drawing, but I'm not so outstanding at it. I like to embroider and I enjoy taking care of plants and learning about them. I collect lots of cool rocks, and I like doing yoga. Is reading tons of Japanese fashion magazines online a hobby?
Do you have any special skills?
-It's not a skill, but there's a preserved dead frog in a jar that's in the trunk of my car.
Do you have pets?
-See above.
Have you done a cosplay? If so, what have you done?
-I wish...though to be honest, the cute girls I'd love to cosplay aren't gonna look so cute with my chub I've got going on. Not that I'm ever gonna lose any weight.
What is the weirdest thing about yourself that you are willing to share?
-Have I not expressed enough weirdness here? I don't wanna scare people away.
What do you like the most about Animation Expression Society?
-That we're going to sell crafts and maybe even have a bake sale! I've never done stuff like that and I'm really excited.
Okay, why not show a picture of myself I drew just cuz:
