"Get the Red Out is a cooperative community event sponsored by UCM and the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce. The 9th annual fair will be held on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013 from 4 - 6:30 pm. The event takes place on Holden St. in Warrensburg between South and Clark Streets. Thousands, from both the campus and the community attend the street fair each year." Quote taken from the UCM page for Get The Red Out, where you can find further details - www.ucmo.edu/gtro/And we intend to be there, assuming we get a booth! Whether or not we get the booth for sure will be announced on September 3rd. If we are there, we will be handing out flyers, selling crafts, and possibly selling food/beverages. If you have any crafts you would like to sell there, or donate to the club for the event, please let us know. Aside from that, if you want to hang out in a cool cosplay/costume entertaining people and being generally awesome, that would be great! Of course you're welcome to hang out and drop by if you don't have a cosplay as well. Star Wars cosplayers usually attend Get The Red Out as well.

Is it possible to sell more unique asian snacks to people, or would that be too expensive or irrelevant? I'm not trying to make this place defined by just the anime part, I just think it'd be a neat way to be remembered positively.

I was considering that as well! There's certainly no denying our club loves Japanese animation, so cool Japanese things are very relevant, and Japanese snacks are awesome. The main concern I have is the the expense. We would be needing to pay out of our own pockets to purchase the materials, and if we don't make enough money to cover the expenses of purchasing the supplies, it could be a problem. Still, I think it's worth the risk. I was thinking at least trying to sell some ramune and pocky, considering they're quite popular and easy to find places other than online.
Speaking of Japanese snacks, we think it would be really cool to give out Japanese candy at the Homecoming Parade! So figuring out where to buy inexpensive Japanese candy in bulk is something that needs to be looked into.

I wish I knew where such a thing would be! Maybe those Japanese gummy candies that are individually wrapped,or some unusual flavored kitkats? Though if I was thinking totally selfish I'd say veggie flavored Pretz and boxes of Apollo, which are my favorites...
Things like Attack on Titan potato chips are cool, but I think the novelty is lost on non-fans....
Anyway, I guess it'd be best to just think of what to do for specific fund amounts and just see which options are possible once it's time to make a purchase. If I thought the printing power and small wooden pieces were there, I'd say we could go with making fans instead, but I'm not even sure if it's going to be hot enough outside that people would want them, even for free. Anyway, I guess if you guys need some urgent help with whatever let me know, it's two days until this event and I'm sure you guys are probably wanting some! Even if it's something I'm unable to do, I might know someone who can do it! <3

Individually wrapped Japanese gummy candies like this - www.amazon.com/Kasugai-Litchi-Lychee-Gummy-Candies/dp/B0009HGVWA/ref=pd_sim_sbs_gro_3 - I think would be really cute for the homecoming Parade. Cost is definitely an issue though, but perhaps if we get enough people to pitch in a bit of money and/or pay membership fees we could do it. Anime snacks are also super cool, but yeah like you said the novelty would be lost on non fans...but if they happen to be given to a fan, that one fan would be super excited hahah As for Get The Red Out, still not sure if we're actually getting the booth, but we should find out today. Thank so much for offering your help! Hmmm there's really not to much to do, but I suppose if you're willing to give buying and selling drinks/food a shot, you could probably do that! I'm also not entirely sure what the food inspection/regulation entails, but it should be fine, especially if it's a bought item with unbroken seals.

I'll see what I can do! If I can find a simply thick enough piece of paper I can probably fashion together a quick sign, but if I remember correctly you guys should have one (or maybe more than one? dang) so this is probs just me making another weird and out of the blue suggestion thing. Anyway, I don't really know where I can buy any of those gummies around here, but maybe somewhere around kc might have something!

Checking out somewhere in KC is definitely a good idea if it's convenient, if not there's always online~
